Ellie & Stavros – Petros 82

As a Toronto wedding photographer, I get to document weddings in many of the city’s most unique venues. Ellie and Stavros planned a wedding that brought together family traditions, meaningful locations, and a celebration at Petros 82, that fit their personalities and Greek heritage.

The ceremony was held at St. Irene’s Chrisovalantou Greek Orthodox Church on The Danforth. Greek Orthodox weddings are rich in tradition, and faith. From the stefana ceremony to the walk around the altar, each moment carried significance.

TORONTO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT HART HOUSE

After the ceremony, we headed to Hart House on the campus of the University of Toronto for their portrait session. This location was a natural choice for wedding photos. The stone buildings, archways, and courtyards offer a variety of backgrounds without requiring much travel through the city. The stunning natural window light inside Hart House, was also an opportunity that we could not pass up.

For many couples, the portrait session becomes one of the few quiet parts of the wedding day. We used that time to slow down before the reception began. We focused on a blend of photographs with movement and posed images. Most importantly creating images that reflected their personalities.

Hart House continues to be one of my favourite locations as a Toronto wedding photographer. The grounds work well in every season and provide a mix of architectural elements that photograph beautifully. Around every corner, there is another interesting backdrop that adds variety to the images.

PETROS 82 WEDDING RECEPTION IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO

Following their photos, everyone gathered at Petros 82 in downtown Toronto for the reception. The evening was filled with good food, greek dancing, and plenty of celebration. Family and friends kept the energy high throughout the night, and the dance floor stayed busy from the first dance until the final songs.

For couples looking for a Toronto wedding photographer, Hart House remains one of the city’s best locations for wedding portraits. Combined with meaningful traditions and a great celebration, it helped create a wedding day that Ellie and Stavros will remember for years to come.
